Product Description Includes Set and $ave 5+2 Programmable Thermostat - 44110
Amazon.com Review Create the ideal indoor climate for the weekend without wasting energy throughout the workweek with this Energy Star-compliant Set & Save Programmable Thermostat from Hunter. Users set the thermostat based on varying household needs for all seven days of the week, for enabling the thermostat to automatically heat up at dawn on a cold morning or to run the air conditioner for longer hours over a summer weekend. By adjusting the thermostat to operate primarily when household members are home, the device reduces wasted energy and minimizes the size of the electric bill in addition to maximizing comfort. The programmable thermostat features a filter monitor and accommodates most gas, oil-fired, and electrical 24-volt and milli-volt furnace and cooling systems. It will not work however with multi- and single- stage heat pumps or 110/220-volt electrical baseboard heating systems. Displayed on an easy to read LCD screen, the thermostat's programmed temperatures range from 45 to 95 degrees F. The thermostat also conveys the room's current temperature from 30 to 99 degrees F. Temperatures above this range are denoted as HI, below as LO. The thermostat will automatically cut off heat operation for room temperatures above 95 degrees F, while interrupting cooling if below 40 degrees F. For sudden weather or schedule changes, users may opt to temporarily override programmed settings for increased comfort. Likewise, a hold option conserves energy while the home dwellers vacation. For general air circulation, a fan switch is installed. The thermostat illuminates a two-stage indicator light to notify low batteries, while lighting a filter-change light to ensure proper and reliable functioning. Two AA 1.5-volt batteries power the thermostat and must be purchased separately. This unit requires assembly upon arrival and purchase of any necessary hardware. Hunter offers a limited one-year warranty for this product. The thermostat weighs 9.6 ounces upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Great Thermostate and a Great Price! August 28, 2010 Allan Freetage (Hemet, CA United States) Our LUX thermostat was getting stuck in the ON position in the summer so it was time to replace it. Looked around at all of the different brands out there with all of the bells and whistles that you will never use and decided to buy this one. Very easy to install (detailed instructions on how to install it) and was very easy to program and it looks great. No issues with the design like other users have had but come on it's a thermostat how often do you mess with it once you have it programed? I highly recommend this item.
Pellet Stove Friendly April 19, 2010 Loma Rica (Foothills, California) Although our home has a central air and heating system, we have successfully used a pellet stove to heat our home for many, many years. For our purposes, much more cost effiecient and the family enjoys watching the "dancing flames". Our stove, like the majority of pellet stoves, can be operated by using a simple wall thermostat to turn the stove on and off, much like a conventional furnace. Over the years, it has always been our practice to manually turn down the thermostat each night before retiring and turning it back up the next morning. This generally works just fine except for those evenings when we forget. Additonally, on those extra cold mornings, once the stove was turned on, it would take quite some time to get the temperature up to a comfortable level. Neither of these situations is earth shattering, but as I get older, I must admit I continually try to make my life just a little bit easier. This battery controlled thermostat has done just that. I replaced an old Honeywell manual thermostat with this item, programmed it without a problem, and it has worked flawlessly for the last month. It turns our pellet stove off 30 minutes prior to retiring and turns it back on 30 minutes before we get up. It can also be programmed for up to 4 weekday settings, to accomodate your work schedule, and seperate settings for the weekend should this be a priority. It is definetly not fancy but it is inexpensive and easy to operate and we are very pleased overall.
Misleading April 19, 2010 J. Lane (Florida) When the description of the thermostat says that it can be programmed for "every day of the week," that does not mean than there can be a separate cooling and heating program for each day of the week. The thermostat can be programmed so that there are separate heating and cooling programs for weekdays (MTWThF) and others for weekends (SaSu). The weekday heating or cooling program must have 4 settings for a 24 hour period and similarly for weekends. For example for either heating or cooling, it can be set for one temperature from 6 AM to 8 AM, another for 8 AM to 5 PM, another from 5 PM to 10 PM, and a fourth from 10 PM to 6 AM. The times at which it switches temperatures can be adjusted. To change from the Heating programs to the Cooling programs, you move a switch from "Heat" to "Cool." If the programming limitations suit your weekly schedule, then you will probably be happy with this thermostat. We have had ours for over a year and have had no problems with it. Installation for our all-electric system was fairly easy. Based on our power bill, the thermostat has saved us money.
Easy Install March 1, 2010 Rita (STL) This product is great. It didnt take long to install at all. It was SO easy. Thinking of installing one in my parents home for them.
Basic Thermostat February 10, 2010 john (CT) This is good basis thermostat. Nothing fancy but it does the job at a good price. Like the preprogrammed energy savings.
