Simple to use! November 16, 2009 Lori A. Bogaski (Archbald, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great for the working person. I would highly recommend this thermostat if you love waking to a warm house. I have it set to come on for an hour before the alarm goes on, and off right after I get out of the shower. Great money saver since I used to leave the heat on higher all night not to wake cold. It was easy to install. My boyfriend did it, but had it completed in minutes. Only draw back is, it's programmable for Monday thru Friday. Not sure why I can't get Saturday and Sunday to show since the instruction book show it. Since I'm there to manually adjust on the weekend, it's not the much of an issue.
Not for a heat pump with back up electric or gas March 9, 2009 R. S. Burchette (Stockbridge, GA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a basic thermostat to run a simple system. It runs on a battery instead of the system voltage. It will not control a heat pump with electric or gas back up. I would suggest moving up to a better model.
Neat, yes! Have I saved any money? Nope... August 29, 2008 J. Wood (Ames, IA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was itching to replace the large and bulky thermostat in my apartment with a slimmer unit. This one fit the bill nicely. The instructions were clear on install,, but the programming is difficult with this model. It's very slim though and I like that about it. the indiglo is nice too for lighting. Unfortunately I have not seen a savings on my energy bills. In fact my bill rose $10 since installing it. I don't think that was the cause though, as there are far too many factors to consider. Overall though it works as advertised. The instructions aren't great but for $25 I am not complaining.
Godd for the money August 18, 2008 Carl Mcbee (Arkansas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not bad at all. The instructions weren't even close for wire labels on my (granted, quite old) thermostat. However, I still managed to get it right after reading some statements about what things NOT to do. Just read it and take your time. After I got it hooked up, it worked awesome, and the batteries are really easy to change. One happy customer.
Not bad at all. December 5, 2007 K. Oliver (GA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not to bad, very good directions. The wiring hook up might get a little tricky if your upgrading a fairly older thermostat but is still doable as it list all the abbriviations and letterings that might be used and provides labels to attach to the wires. Couple draw backs is it does not show the current set temperture, have to press the up/down arrow to see the set temperture. Have hold the arrow for 1.5 seconds to adjust the set temperture which is kind of a hassle when you just want to check it and not change it. When programming it, have to go threw the entire program to get to the one you want to change. Say you to change program 3 for Sunday, you have to go all the way threw the 4 sets for M-F then threw the 4 sets for Saturday just to get to Sunday. You can't just skip M-S and go to Sunday. All are minor but aggrivating the first week or two when your tweaking the settings if you never had a programmable in the first place or your old did not function in this manner.
