This worked fine at first but then almost a year in it started to not work sporadically; then stopped completely. The little flame icon would show but it would fail to actually ignite the furnace. I have been trying to figure out why and I came across several reviews of this item (some are located under the review for the non-decor version of this thermostat Honeywell RTH2310B 5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat) that note the same issue. Complete waste of money and too late to return it. Don't get stuck like I did!!

Bought 3 of these for Christmas gifts for the family last year and they are in service and have been running flawlessly ever since. I was told they were easy to install and worked very well with noticeable large improvements in both the heating and cooling bills by all. The things I like about this thermostat over others is the fact that it had different color front plates which make it fit in anywhere in your home. In the brochure it even states you could paint the plate to match your wall color! It also is a 7, instead of 5, individual day programming (which I would think should be a must when buying a programmable thermostat). It had numerous features and even reminds you after 500 hrs. to change your furnace filter, which is something I always seem to forget. It is Energy Star rated and I am sure it will continue to save all considerably on heating and cooling costs. It's also mercury free compared to the old style thermostat's that it replaces. Everyone seemed to like this thermostat so much that I ordered one for myself.

Three interchangable face plates make this sleek thermostat fit right in with any decor.
The wiring is easy, mounting the unti to the wall is a breeze, and programming it is very intuative. It takes mere minutes to program the entire week, and it can be changed eastily later on if need arises.
A great value that beats the box stores any day of the week!
I have bought four of this model, and will do so again in the future if the need arises.

It took a little tweaking and a phone call to the manufacturer to get the thermostat to talk to our heater, but it was worth it. This seems to be the only non-white thermostat on the market and for our 100+ year old house with dark wood paneling white just wasn't going to cut it. This unit is very easy on the eyes and I do like the look and customizable face plates, however I always seem to have issues with getting the air conditioning to function after changing the battery.
It might just be me, but the unit also doesn't have very informative error messages when it comes to something not working right. Maybe none of them do, but I've been quite frustrated with mine over the past year and a bit. I get the blinking light means something isn't right, but maybe some text somewhere on the LCD such as is seen when the filter needs to be changed would certainly enhance troubleshooting.
